Meet our team

We are currently recruiting for a number of roles to lead this initiative. The Safe to Learn team are always looking for people who share our mission. If you want to help address antisemitism in UK schools, please get in touch to find out more.

Saskia is the Family and Schools Liaison Specialist at Safe to Learn. She studied Law with International Relations and has considerable experience in business development and communications across sectors including technology and finance. She has worked with diverse stakeholders and partners to build strong relationships, develop strategies and drive impactful initiatives. As a mother of three daughters in UK schools, she brings personal insight and experience to this role. She joined Safe to Learn as she is passionate about the vital work the organisation is doing to combat antisemitism and promote equality and respect for all. She speaks German, English and Spanish.

Alastair is advising on our Safe to Learn project, helping UK schools ensure that the impact of antisemitism is properly understood and addressed as a safeguarding issue. He has been Headteacher of three schools—one primary, one secondary and one of the first all-through academies.

He was also the founding Director of a city-wide education partnership set up initially to strengthen local safeguarding practice. Alongside this, he has run a small charity focused on enterprise education and previously worked as an education adviser for a national careers organisation and as founding Director of the Jewish community’s education strategy body. Alastair currently also works as an adviser for a national policy organisation. He holds a MA in History from Cambridge University and a Masters in Community Education from the University of Warwick.

Lauren is a graphic designer with 18 years’ experience working in creative agencies (eight years in the charity sector), on a range of disciplines from branding and print design, to campaigns and strategy. She’s previously worked for charity clients such as The King’s Trust, Comic Relief and BCS, and has experience with compelling storytelling, content creation and charity comms. She is a mother of twins in a UK school, and joined Safe to Learn as she believes all children deserve the right to learn safely, without discrimination.
